New XXXTENTACION & Lil Uzi Vert Collaboration ‘I’m Not Human’ Released on Late Artist’s Birthday
A new track featuring XXXTentacion has dropped, and it sees the late rapper team up with Lil Uzi Vert. The track was released on XXXTentacion’s birthday.
Titled “I’m Not Human,” the song takes a more ballad-like approach than would be expected from either artist.
The collaboration was announced on XXX’s official Instagram just before its release. “A gift from Jah,” the account teased. “Thank you #liluzzi.”
It’s unclear whether Uzi recorded his contribution to “I’m Not Human” before XXX was killed in 2018; this is the first time they’ve appeared on the track together.
During an Instagram live stream in 2021, Uzi suggested that he was hesitant to collaborate with X posthumous.
“He called me one time when he was in jail a long time ago, and I was going onstage – I was on tour with The Weeknd – he called me, and he rapped a song for me that he never put down, And it was cool,” Uzi explained.
“I’d love to do a song with her, but I’m weird at things like that. Don’t get me wrong; it took me a long time to do this with another artist. … I understand they’re not living here, and what if that’s not the vision they want?
Especially if they fuck with me, like, what if it’s all wrong? If they got it all wrong, I’d be furious because I’m not here, but if it works, it works.
